Phi-lanthropy
Service and Philanthropy are cornerstones of our organization and are truly close to our hearts. Alpha Phis at Seton Hall hold service activities to give back to the surrounding South Orange and Maplewood communities, bettering ourselves and the place we call home. Our philanthropic efforts focus on our Fraternity’s International cause, The Alpha Phi Foundation, which raises awareness and funds research for the number one killer of women – heart disease.
We incorporate the Foundation’s mission into what we do here on campus and in our community.

The Alpha Phi Foundation
The original ten women who founded Alpha Phi were united with a common purpose. They felt the need to form a circle of friends that could sympathize and reach out to their community. Alpha Phi’s today share that same need. They face many of the same challenges the original founders did, and some new ones. The Alpha Phi Foundation was created to support Alpha Phi’s and others in need and to express the philanthropic spirit of love and charity intended by the Founders. We raise and award funds for programs that advance leadership development, encourage academic excellence, improve women’s heart health, support our sisters in need, and educate about the value of philanthropy and cardiac care.
Since 1946, Alpha Phi has focused on heart disease and cardiac care as a philanthropic priority. One in six women die from Heart Disease, making it this country's biggest killer. Today, research into the diagnosis and treatment of women's heart disease is a special interest of the Alpha Phi Foundation. Gender differences in diagnosing and treating cardiac health problems are becoming widely recognized. The Alpha Phi Foundation directly benefits the American Heart Association.
Alpha Phi has donated over a million hours of volunteer service and raised and contributed over $2.25 million for heart projects since 1946.
Alpha Phi is the only organization that has twice received the American Heart Association's highest award, “The Heart and Torch Award.”

In addition, our biggest event hosted each fall is our annual Red Dress Gala. This year our Red Dress Gala is going to take place on November 4th, 2017!
Community Service
Holding these ideals, we incorporate our international philanthropy into what we do here on campus. Our chapter here at Seton Hall participates in, and hosts, numerous philanthropy and community service events each year. During the school year, we participate in numerous volunteer activities, such as Seton Hall Open House for incoming freshman, Freshman Move-In Day, giving out candy to children of underprivileged neighborhoods on Halloween at the local Turtle Back Zoo, Seton Hall's Service on Saturdays, and park clean-ups. Alpha Phi's at Seton Hall also actively participate in Relay For Life each Spring. Although we volunteer our time for a variety of different events hosted on campus, we put our best foot forward off campus as well. We constantly join in numerous clubs on campus, hold Student Government positions, and are members of Greek Municipal Assembly and Collegiate Panhellenic Council.
